A coalition of over 40 Wisconsin-based activists and groups has sent a letter to Governor Scott Walker (R) and to every member of the Wisconsin state legislature after the state’s failure to back out of the Common Core standards nightmare and implement Wisconsin-based standards, as the Governor had indicated he wanted.
Key members of the legislature have been denounced by their local party caucuses for their continued support of the controversial federal education standards. Now outside groups are joining the chorus.
The letter, entitled “You Own It (pdf),” details many of the problems facing parents, teachers, schools, and most of all students as the Common Core standards and tests take control of schools in Wisconsin.
