To The Left: Stop With The Benghazi Jokes

“The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.” ― Albert Einstein

I continue to be amazed that, for all their claims of intellectual superiority, the collective Left fails so miserably at the art of the simple comparison. You would think that, at some point, they performed well enough on standardized tests to get into all those fancy Ivy League schools. So, I’m perplexed as to how they just can’t master the “A is to B, as C is to D” problems. But, bless their hearts, they just can’t for the life of them.

Little known fact: Monica Lewinsky is how Republicans pronounced Benghazi in the 1990s.

Here’s the thing, Sally. One of those things is not like the other. As a matter of fact, the only thing that they may have in common is the “vast right wing conspiracy” involved in the coverup. Oh, wait, did I say “right wing?” I hate it when I accidentally quote Hilary Clinton. In both cases, there is significant evidence to suggest that the coverup is roiled by the vast left wing conspiracy. Now, in one of those cases, the President lied. Surely that’s not the subliminal comparison you’re truly looking to suggest?

Further, if you think that it’s at all okay to make light of the death of four honorably serving Americans, by comparing it humorously to a twenty year old investigation – One that the Left treated like a game of Clue that ended “The intern did it in the private library,”you need to do some serious soul searching. There are four families – spouses, parents, children, siblings – who have been told conflicting stories by this Administration.

Don’t they deserve these hearings?

At least as much as America deserved to know what Roger Clemens was needling into his tuchus? And certainly as much as America deserved to know that Alberto Gonzalez lawfully fired a handful of attorneys, who served at the pleasure of the President?

It’s been disheartening to see that anyone would make light of what happened in Benghazi, but it seems the Left is willing to be that crass and callous, in the interest of trying to make it about the Republican party, rather than about the truth.

From Harry Reid’s Communications Director…

BREAKING: Speaker Boehner literally changes name to Speaker Benghazi.

To a Missouri State Legislator…

The attempts at making jokes about this are in poor taste, and given the frequency with which these jokes are emerging, likely someone’s idea of a legitimate strategy.

Here is a #ProTip for the Left. You should welcome these hearings, but you should not joke about them. Not even in an attempt to make this at the expense of the reputation of the Republican party.

If there is nothing to hide, and if every single member of the Administration has been truthful, you should be blowing your trumpets (but not your President) to see to it that every email, and every detail is disclosed. Sooner, rather than… oh, wait, it’s already later, because you Hoped that it would go away, if you just kept Changing the subject.

Hence the famous line “What difference does it make at this point?”

So, no more delays. There are four families, who deserve to know who decided to make their loved one’s death about a little noticed YouTube video, possibly for the sole purpose of political expediency.
