PFoL’s Ads Are Better: #NoThanksObamacare

From the PFoL Social Media Director herself:

This week when the #ThanksObamacare ads launched, the internet lit up with commentary about the ads straight along ideological lines. Enough has been said about the messaging contained in the ads, and that’s not my point in this post. Speaking truth to absurd power is my aim, and this ad campaign needed a healthy dose of reality.

Though I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how appalled I was by the heinously bad grammar. “Do You Got Insurance?” made me want to torch the entire Department of Education. Now, in all fairness, I fall firmly in the camp of “if Chick-Fil-A can find cows smart enough to write, they can find cows smart enough to spell.” I don’t care which ideological side you’re on, use of proper spelling and grammar is incredibly sexy.

But the grammatical doozy that I just can’t get past was in the Susie and Nate “Hot to Trot” ad. At the bottom of the ad, there is a line that reads,”The pill doesn’t protect you from STDs, condoms and common sense do that.” So. Much. Fail. Not even an Oxford comma could have saved that one.

So in the spirit of creativity, sarcasm, and a serious shot of what’s actually happening because of this disastrous legislation, Pocket Full of Liberty presents to you our own set of creative musings… #NoThanksObamacare.

Enjoy… MM
