Sierra Club Lets The Mask Slip On The Anti-Human Climate Change Agenda

The Sierra Club tweeted its support for the pointless Senate Up 4 Climate all-night session, showing that the organization gives its allegiance to its leftist agenda rather than to the welfare future generations of people.  They still believe humans are the problem, and less of us is the solution.

Thank you to the Senators standing up for climate action tonight. #FamilyPlanning can help fight #climate change, too http://t.co/8OR4IQHtFk

That tweet links to a page from the Sierra Club’s Global Population and Environment Program titled, “Fighting Climate Change With Family Planning.” The opening paragraph is a thrill ride of ominous, very scary, ominousness:

Environmentalists are so focused on fighting the dirty-energy juggernaut lately that they sometimes forget about the fact that the world’s population is growing by about 220,000 people per day. You read that right: 220,000 per day. We hit the 7 billion mark last October, in case you missed it. Which is just 2 billion less than the amount of carbon, in tons, that humans currently release into the atmosphere annually.

I’m not sure why we’re given the third grade word problem as the punch line, but neither am I here to be a writing critic. Mainly I’m pointing out that to the Sierra Club, 220,000 more people is a problem. It’s not just any old problem, but a shocking, “You read that right” kind of problem.

The solutions the Sierra Club proposes are useless at best and possibly counterproductive. Despite the deepest fears of the Malthusians at the Sierra Club, we know that the way to keep people from exploiting the environment is for them to advance economically, and when they do that, they also stop having large families.

In the end, the Sierra Club’s Global Population and Environment Program is just a way to keep brown people from having children, even if it means having to get rid of them before they’re born.
