Senate Democrat Lifts his Hold on Medicare Appointee Despite His Objections of White House Actions

Tom Harkin (D-IA) has ceased his hold on confirmation proceedings for Marilyn Tavenner, to head up CMS ( Medicare). However he reiterated his objections to the White House Plans to use funds targeted for Prevention for advertising efforts for the Affordable Care Act.

““The White House gives lip service to the importance of prevention. But, Mr. President, actions speak louder than words. This administration has reneged on its commitment to prevention. This is a bad policy choice. And this choice will have serious, negative consequences for the health of the American people,” he said.” – Sen Tom Harkin
