As The Border Crisis Escalates, Obama Goes On Three-Day Fundraising Binge

Instead of dealing with the growing flood of illegal immigrants crossing the border, President Priority Challenged™ is taking time away from a grueling golf-schedule to channel his inner frat boy and set out on a three-day fundraising party binge late this afternoon.

First up is Denver, where Obama will be fundraising for vulnerable Democrat Senator Mark Udall at a closed-door event.  As Obama’s poll numbers continue spiraling towards the basement, no wonder Udall doesn’t want to be seen with him.

Shortly thereafter, our environmentally friendly and carbon-footprint conscious President will hop on his 747 for more fundraisers in Texas.

President Barack Obama’s offer for a “quick handshake on the Tarmac” when the president arrives in Austin on Wednesday. But Perry said he would juggle his schedule to accommodate a “substantive meeting” with Obama on border security any time during his two-day visit to Texas.

Late Monday, Valerie Jarrett, senior advisor to President Obama, replied to Perry affirmatively, saying, “The president would welcome a meeting with you while he is in Texas.”

In the two-page letter obtained first by the American-Statesman, Jarrett also invited Perry to join faith leaders and local elected officials for a round table discussion on the border that has been added to the president’s schedule while he is in Dallas on Wednesday. It wasn’t immediately clear how Perry would respond.

The president is spending two days in Texas, raising money for national Democratic coffers in Dallas on Wednesday and in Austin on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. His only public event in Austin will be a discussion of the economy at the Paramount Theater on Congress Avenue on mid-day Thursday. There was no plan to visit the southern border while in Texas, but the newly-added Dallas round table means that he will be addressing the issue of illegal immigration head-on while in the state.

“As you know, the administration continues to address this urgent humanitarian situation with a whole-of-government response on both sides of the border,” Jarrett wrote Perry. “This includes appropriate care for unaccompanied children, as well as aggressive steps to surge resources to the Southwest border to deter both adults and children from embarking on this dangerous journey, increasing capacity for enforcement and removal proceedings, and quick return of recent unlawful border crossers to their home countries after appropriate humanitarian screenings have taken place and they are determined to be removable.

Let’s look at that again, shall we?  “Quick return of recent unlawful border crossers to their home countries after appropriate humanitarian screenings have taken place and they are determined to be removable.”  Interesting, especially considering Obama just backed away from “seeking new authority to send unaccompanied migrant kids back home faster.”  As usual, at no time does the Obama Administration know what the Obama Administration is doing.

It doesn’t seem as though the thousands of illegal immigrants currently running for the U.S. border will be hopping a bus home any time soon, if at all.  An internal DHS Report leaked to Breitbart admits that “only 0.1 percent of the Central American minors illegally entering the U.S. having been deported in Fiscal Year 2013.”  Yes, you read that correctly – 99.9% of Central American minors illegally entering the US are still here.  Unreal.

Barack Obama, fundamentally transforming America one busload of illegal immigrants (to a city near you) at a time.
